🔗 Share this article The second-hand marketplace Users Share Anger Regarding Sizing Changes Vinted users have been reacting angrily after an update resulted in products showing incorrect sizing. The popular resale platform has revised its sizing categories for women's and children's garments failing to inform all users about the change. Online Platforms Reaction Countless users and merchants have taken to social media claiming that product pages now present a different size category versus the original listing due to the recalibration. Vinted explained the revised method more closely matches comparable marketplaces. It has advised users to review their products and update the measurements by hand if necessary, resulting in member annoyance. Sizing System Changes Previously, the measurements included one number and one letter, for instance S/8 or M/10. The new system has an alphabetical indicator and numerical range such as S/UK 8-10. In some cases, the sizing has been recategorised - for example a size L was formerly size 12 but now shows as UK 16-18. Shopper Experiences One content creator, who produces content about larger sizing, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling". "Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," which is what Vinted now does. Another user, from Glasgow, said garments she listed with size 14 tags were showing in the marketplace as size 20–22. "If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they will likely be quite upset," she said. Necessary Adjustments A different user, based in Derby, explained she became annoyed by the change as she had to manually change the sizes on "every single listing". "For me this is particularly frustrating, since I have chronic health issues and Vinted sales have been crucial following partial earnings loss," she stated. Marketplace Information The service features exceeding 100 million users, including 18 million in the UK. It has proved a popular alternative compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop. This represents another occasion when a surprising modification within the service has received backlash: last year, the service retracted a modification to its shipping options due to shopper criticism.
