Since the launch of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a diverse cast of heroes, and a gripping narrative including angels, evil spirits, and malevolent powers growing in power within the city.
Warning: Spoilers for the latest installment of this adventure are included.
The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced
The latest chapter finished on a huge suspense moment and introduced the initial group of heroes who will branch out from the primary party to embark on their independent quest, distinct from the other two tables.
The combat-focused team features the determined fighter (portrayed by the voice actor), Thimble (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
Considering a large ensemble, it was clear from the start that keeping everyone at the same party would be impossible.
That’s why, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, intertwining the characters’ stories before splitting into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Schemers, and Questers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
According to the DM, the combat-focused party is for participants who prefer a traditionally charged fight-heavy narrative style where non-violent answers are rare.
Initially, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might appear out of place, but the actions of the latest installment demonstrate why these five characters are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the team knows exactly where to head next after a brutal initial meeting with the enemy group.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose demise kicked off the narrative’s action—exploited the foes for his personal gain, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the rogue, and taking all the powerful objects to auction.
Casimir then paid off his obligations and fled to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, north of the urban center, with Cyd hot on his heels.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each adventurer has a specific drive to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, seeks vengeance.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with Timmony and warns that it is a dangerous place.
- The strong character and The healer, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to eliminate the fighter and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- But, their reputation as key figures in the powerful family could enable the team reach places they usually can’t.
- Additionally, Teor vowed a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his deliverance and will now go with him everywhere.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are hunted by the authorities that control the city for a multiple motives, making staying in the city dangerous:
- The rogue and The character are known criminals.
- The strong figure and The healer betrayed the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The target is marked for death by House Halovar.
This results in them no alternative but to travel to Timmony in search of the antagonist.
